Increase business agility and IT efficiency in your datacenter
With Hyper-V, your organization will be more cost-effective making the best out of the capacity and power of your hardware. Your Hyper-V server enables you to deploy less expensive virtual servers and use a single virtual Hyper-V server in multiple roles and hosting multiple applications. The virtualization technology ensures that the virtual server is separated from the
hardware. With Hyper-V you get a compelling solution for core virtualization scenarios: production server consolidation, dynamic datacenter, business continuity, VDI and test & development.
Virtualization: Cost-Effective Solutions
Whether you’re virtualizing your workloads or building a private cloud, the technologies available within the virtualization platform in Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V can provide cost-effective solutions.
Increase Business Flexibility
As virtualized datacenters become more prevalent, you need to be able to place your workloads where they fit best, and you need to be able to quickly and easily migrate your workloads between servers to best distribute the load. Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V allows you to live migrate your virtual machines and independently migrate your virtual machine storage with few limitations—from outside a clustered environment, between two clusters
Windows Server 2012 R2 we get a new feature: Shared VHDX. You attach a VHDX to a SCSI controller of your VMs, edit the Advanced settings of the VHDX, and enable sharing. This creates a persistent reservation passthrough to the VHDX, and the VMs now see this VHDX as a shared SAS disk. You can now build guest clusters with this shared VHDX as the cluster storage.
